Wedgefield is a terrific family oriented Horse Community located in East Orange County, Florida. It is conveniently
situated within 30 minutes of downtown Orlando.
Rocket City was the original name for Wedgefield which was started in the 1970's. The development has undergone
numerous peaks and valleys in it's history but is currently a very sought after area with numerous new homes under
construction. There are three communities within Wedgefield, two are residential developments with 1/4 acre lots
and the third and largest community has 3 acre minimum lots.
This Horse Community spans an approximate 15 square mile area, 6,800 acres and 81 miles of paved streets. The
development is surrounded on two sides by 8,000 acres of state conservation area. Wedgefield has plenty of
recreational facilities. A championship 18-hole golf course, a terrific clubhouse, restaurant and bar, bicycle
lanes on the roadways, a community park, a picnic pavilion with rest rooms, a children's playground, an adult
sports complex that includes baseball / softball field, soccer / football field, and a sand beach volleyball
The Hal Scott Preserve, located on the west side of Wedgefield, provides nature trails, fishing lakes, horse riding
trails, and camping. There are also miles of County easements located inside the community that are used by the
