This beautiful former ranch land in El Dorado County, in the California Gold Country, is
approximately 1,600 Acres in size and was transformed into a prestigious Horse Community in 1961. It is now proudly
called Cameron Estates. With almost immediate access to Hwy 50, it enjoys a superb location for easy driving to
work in Sacramento or shopping, and recreation in the immediate area. It is located adjacent to Shingle Springs and
Cameron Park and between El Dorado Hills and Placerville, off Highway 50.
TRAILS: It is about an hour and 15 minutes to Lake Tahoe and skiing, and within 30-40 minutes to some of the
choicest horse trails in the entire United States.
Residents often ride along the quiet neighborhood streets along the shoulders and through vacant property.
This Horse Community has a truly rural and open feeling, which was divided into approximately
288 individual small country ranches of approximately 5 acres each by Robert L. (Larry) Cameron.
Mr. Cameron also developed the Cameron Golf Course and Cameron Airport Estates in approximately the same time
period. Larry Cameron sold nearly all of
his holdings in 1965

Cameron Estates, once called Dorado Estates is comprised of gently rolling grassy hills and oak studded parcels
with horse easements for riding trails along the 16.5 miles of quiet and scenic residential streets. There is a
easement for riding along the side of the streets.
